Long road awaits UALR before conference play

UALR's men's basketball team will play road games this season at Northwestern, Baylor, Marquette, and Oklahoma State before it begins play in the revamped Sun Belt Conference.
It will also play games against NCAA Division II teams Central Arkansas and Southwestern of Georgetown, Texas, first-year NCAA Division I member Morris Brown of Atlanta and Southwestern Athletic Conference teams Alcorn State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
UALR's Sun Belt season begins with new conference member Middle Tennessee on Dec. 28 at Alltel Arena. UALR also has games against first-year Sun Belt teams New Mexico State and North Texas.
"We're playing four teams that play in the top eight ranked conferences," UALR Coach Porter Moser said. "And we have to play six of our first 10 games on the road. I have to change our guys mind-set on the road."
UALR did not win on the road last season.
