Injuries could impact ASU scrimmageInjuries continue to take a toll and may alter some of Arkansas State preparations for today's annual Fan Appreciation Day in Indian Stadium. "Right now we haven't set the schedule," Coach Joe Hollis said. "We have not made a final decision on how many snaps we'll take. We're going to do what's best for the football team. "We've got 22 people getting treatment, and we're going to make some good decisions. We have to minimize the contact and still get some quality work in." Indian Stadium will open to the public at noon with free hot dogs and soft drinks going to the first 1,000 people who arrive. The team is scheduled to work out at 1 p.m. and will meet with fans following the scrimmage. Trainer Ron Carroll said that receiver Mark Hamilton, who injured a knee earlier in the week, is not expected to undergo surgery at this time and is reviewing his options with ASU's compliance office. Other players who missed both of Friday's practice sessions are Neil Bounds (hip), Garry Johnson (shoulder), Maurice Joyner (hip), Jerry Mack (knee), A.K. Moulton (headache), Eric Neihouse (knee), Burt Samples (knee), Danny Smith (groin), Deric Wyatt (thigh) and Jerome Stegall (hamstring). -- Democrat-Gazette Staff and Press Services
