Practice for opener sluggish for ASUJONESBORO -- With the season opener against Georgia four days away, Arkansas State Coach Joe Hollis was disappointed with his team's practice Tuesday afternoon. "We could have had a better day," Hollis said. "We need to demonstrate more leadership on the practice field. We were a little sluggish and it was disappointing in the way we practiced." Hollis said freshman Beau Shrable has been moved from linebacker to offense, and freshman Alfredo Maldonado and A.K. Moulton missed workouts while waiting to be cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse. "It's basically out of our hands right now," Hollis said. "It's an academic issue between the Clearinghouse and the high school counselors." Head trainer Ron Carroll said almost all of the Indians' injured players returned to practice. -- Democrat-Gazette Press Services
