ASU expects big challenge in opener against GeorgiaArkansas State began implementing its game plan for the Sept. 1 season opener against Georgia Thursday by splitting into scout teams. "It was the first day we had scout teams in our team sessions working against initial preparations for the University of Georgia," said Coach Joe Hollis. "So the tempo was not as good as it normally is with the change in practice schedule where we are dividing the squad up and forming scout teams on both sides of the football. But I expect the tempo to pick up tomorrow." Hollis said the Indians began their game plan initially on the first day of classes Wednesday, and noted that with Georgia's strong defense, ASU will be challenged offensively. ASU's quarterback situation is still a question mark, but Hollis did acknowledge that his young quarterback are growing with ASU's philosophy and plan. "It might be unrealistic this early in the year to say you've established somewhat of a rhythm when you come out of camp one day," said Hollis. "To be fair to our football team and our two freshman quarterbacks, we need to give them more snaps in practice if we expect to play them in a ball game because they are true freshmen and it's hard to simulate what they're going to see in Athens. "Right now, they are progressing just like you would assume a true freshman would."
