Razorback commitments

FAYETTEVILLE --Harrison lineman Brian Hill got what he always wanted when Arkansas offensive line coach Mike Markuson called with a scholarship offer Friday evening.
Hill immediately accepted, becoming the Razorbacks' 11th oral commitment. Hill (6-61/2, 297, 5.44 seconds in the 40-yard dash) is the third offensive lineman to commit to the Razorbacks.
"He called and said he had good news, a full ride, and I said, 'I'll take it,' " said Hill, who helped the Goblins win the Class AAAA state championship last Saturday. "I can't wait to get into the weight room and start working. [Markuson] knows if I work hard, I can be All-SEC, All-American. He said all I need is hard work and dedication.
"I was keeping everything open, just in case they didn't offer. They were always my No. 1 choice."
Hill has played football for only two years but is considered a superb athlete. He said he worried some when the Razorbacks took so long to offer a scholarship, but he was reassured when Markuson called a week ago.
"He talked real positive," Hill said. "He asked if they gave me a scholarship would I even consider going somewhere else. I said no."
Hill is a huge fan oflate All-American guard Brandon Burlsworth, who played at Harrison before walking on at Arkansas. Hill said he is looking forward to following in Burlsworth's footsteps but hopes no one expects him to be Burlsworth's equal.
