UA volleyball schedule includes Penn State, USC

The Arkansas Lady Razorbacks' 2000 volleyball schedule, released Saturday, features nine NCAA Tournament participants, including the defending national champion Penn State Nittany Lions.
The Lady Razorbacks open the season with the preseason favorite Nittany Lions and Southern California, ranked 17th in the final AVCA/USA Today Coaches Poll, at Texas on Sept. 1 and 2. The Lady Razorbacks don't face the host Longhorns in the tournament but Texas travels to Fayetteville for a midweek match Nov. 8.
After the opening weekend, the Lady Razorbacks travel to the Pittsburgh Tournament to face NCAA Tournament participant Indiana as well as Miami (Ohio) and host Pittsburgh. A home opener with Oklahoma on Sept. 12 will be followed by the Bank of Fayetteville Invitational, in which the Lady Razorbacks face three NCAA teams in Michigan, Houston and Virginia, Sept. 15-16.
The Lady Razorbacks begin their defense of the SEC Western Division title Sept. 24, hosting South Carolina at 1 p.m. Arkansas also will play home matches against Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Mississippi State in back-to-back weekends Oct. 6-8 and 15-16.
The SEC Tournament will be played Nov. 19-21 in Gainesville, Fla.
