The Cotton Bowl stadium crowd of 51,019 resembled an Arkansas home game as the seats were filled with red-clad fans anxious to see the Razorbacks in their first visit to Texas since 1995, when SMU beat Arkansas 17-14 in the Cotton Bowl.
