Indians name two captains

DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE PRESS SERVICES

JONESBORO -- Arkansas State players chose outside linebacker Segun Ajigbeda and quarterback Cleo Lemon as their team captains for the season.
Ajigbeda and Lemon are both seniors who have started since they were freshman.
"I think the team made a couple of great choices in picking Cleo and Segun," Coach Joe Hollis said. "They are both mature young men that show leadership qualities on the field."
The Indians returned to practice on Monday after a day off.
The layoff made the team a little slow to react at times during practice, Hollis said.
"We got some good work in and corrected some mistakes from Saturday's scrimmage," Hollis said. "But, without sounding negative, we were a little lethargic on both sides of the ball."
Aside from Eti Taula, Quincy Williams and Andrew Tripp, who are missing time due to surgeries, the Indians had a few other missing practice time Monday.
Running back Jonathan Adams is one of 35 candidates for the Doak Walker award, designed to honor to the top running back in college football.
