Boise QB could cause problems for ASUDEMOCRAT-GAZETTE PRESS SERVICESJONESBORO -- Arkansas State spent Wednesday's workout focusing on final preparations for Saturday's game with defending Big West Conference champion Boise State. ASU will face the Broncos (6-2, 2-0) in Indian Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4:07 p.m. to accommodate television in Boise. Big West Conference offensive player of the year for 1999, Bart Hendricks, is back to lead the favored Broncos in his senior season. He leads the conference in total yards, with an average 311.4 yards a game, and is second in passing with 285.9 yards a game. "They take full advantage of their quarterback and his talents," ASU Coach Joe Hollis said. "He can beat you in so many ways." It will be the second meeting between the two schools. The Broncos took advantage of three ASU turnovers and beat the Indians 63-10 last year. Boise State moves on to the Western Athletic Conference next season while ASU will join the Sun Belt. ASU's injury situation was positive with the exception of offensive lineman Garrick Jones who sprained a knee last weekend against Utah State. Jones is listed as doubtful by trainer Ron Carroll. Linebacker Joe Jones (shoulder) went through limited drills on Wednesday and Carroll said backup tailback back Danny Smith is available after missing last week's game at Utah State with a hamstring injury.
