ASU gets pressure in practiceDEMOCRAT-GAZETTE PRESS SERVICESJONESBORO -- Tempo and fundamentals dominated Arkansas State's practice Wednesday, then the Indians finished under pressure. "It was a good practice and the intensity and tempo were good," Coach Joe Hollis said. "There were a lot of fundamentals and team work and we ended the day with a pass under pressure period." The Indians (0-2) open their home schedule against Memphis at 6 p.m. Saturday in Indian Stadium. Trainer Ron Carroll said backup center Andrew Tripp underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Wednesday and is expected to miss 2 to 3 weeks. This is the second knee surgery for Tripp in just over a month. "There is some concern at depth at offensive line with some injuries there," Hollis said. "Andrew has had his second knee surgery in a month and this just means that some people may have to play a couple of positions in a backup role." Carroll also said defensive back Keith Headley is still suffering from a shoulder injury and is listed as probable for special teams only. Linebacker Chris Hogan will miss the game with a sprained ankle and knee. Others missing drills were defensive linemen Maci Davis (shoulder sprain) and J.C. Miller (strained knee). Carroll said both will undergo further evaluation by team physicians.
